Why do a "Styled Shoot?"
If your first question is, “What is a styled shoot?”, then this is the perfect blog post for you to read! Tim and I traveled out west for 10 days almost exactly a week ago for a small getaway (experience that side of the US like I, Andrea, never have before) and decided to do a little filming for Barefoot while we were there…Who could pass that up with a location like the Colorado mountains right in the midst of an autumn-aspen-color-changing peak?!
We filmed a “styled shoot.” The styled shoot was a mock elopement of a real engaged couple (totally amazing people and so so much fun to work with) who acted for us as if they were eloping in the Colorado mountains. We directed them on what to wear to this shoot and Tim and I even came up with their vows to each other. It felt a little weird to write vows that weren’t our own, but it was fun and challenged us to come up with a story for this couple “getting eloped.”
The reason Tim and I, and other videographers, chose to film an elopement that is not actually real is because we know that to grow our business and film the stories that we are passionate about, we want to show this type of content on our website, social media, etc. We want to brand ourselves in such a way that gives a bride and groom searching for a videographer a better idea of what we are all about, our style, and our passions. We want to help them as much as possible to know who they are choosing when they choose Barefoot Films.
This styled shoot was an investment Tim and I decided was crucial for our business. This shoot shows the kind of Captivating, Authentic, and Adventurous stories that we are passionate about capturing. We can’t wait to release this video to you.
