About four years ago, I was in a coffee shop with a friend when I saw Nathan walk into the front door. I had actually seen him on the street once before and thought he was so handsome. It was a weird coincidence that he was now only a few feet away, but I had to leave soon for a meeting. He stepped out for a few minutes to take a phone call, and I wrote a letter to him on a napkin asking if he would like to get coffee sometime (left my name and number). Luckily, he texted me that night! We had coffee the next week and we began dating a few months later. About four years passed and we are now living in Chicago. My best friends were in town and we spent the whole day together getting brunch and manicures and going shopping. My one friend insisted walking on the beach because it was a beautiful day out, and for whatever reason I didn’t think anything of it. When we arrived, Nathan was standing there (with lots of tears), and he handed me a napkin, saying he wanted to end it the way it started. It said “will you marry me?” Of course, and he handed me flowers and got down on one knee. It was the perfect skyline backdrop and I couldn’t have been more excited. When we drove back to our apartment, I was shocked to find that all of our close friends were waiting to celebrate. It was the best day ever. We went to a coffee shop the next morning :)
