Never Board on Weekends Off

This weekend Tim had an adventure. Yes, what is new, right? However, most weekends we have off from weddings are not spent in the very rare way this particular weekend was spent. If you followed our Instagram stories, you will know what I’m referring to.

Tim has very likeminded friends that he made from Moody Bible Institute where he studied, and it’s no surprise that they keep in touch for a number of reasons, one of them being to continue to fuel their passions for adventures with one another. Watching this unfold is especially fun as an outsider because it really gives you the urge to do something crazy because they make it look so desirable.

The kind of crazy I am referring to in particular is the journey they went on from Friday morning at 4AM to Saturday night 11PM. The leader of their group and organizer of this trip, Cade Chudy, is making a documentary about their story...so keep your eyes peeled on Instagram, @_thecrossing! Their goal was to cross Lake Michigan from west to east all the way on paddle boards. With little foreknowledge of what the weather would be like, they prayed and hoped for ideal weather for this journey. As it turns out, the turn in the weather made it a most eventful trip.

Without giving away any of their stories just yet, I encourage you to follow @_thecrossing to read about some of these adventures while they attempted “The Crossing” from their own perspectives!

I have to say though, as the wife of one of these crazies, I got the very common question if I was worries or nervous. To most people’s surprise, my answer was a very sure “no.” Yes, I was a tiny bit concerned about the uncertainty of weather. However, aside from natural events that could have made the trip dangerous, I had full confidence that these 5 guys would be alright attempting this goal together. And they would have a great time doing it.
